Mezzo-soprano Eugenia Forteza and pianist Samuel Bezerra are set to present their concert, “Delirio Porteño” in Paris.
The concert features Argentine classical, folk, and popular music, with authentic stories and colors from Buenos Aires. The program includes music by Carlos Gardel, Astor Piazzolla, Claudia Montero, Ariel Ramírez, and Carlos Guastavino, among others.
“Delirio Porteño” will celebrate the opening of the “Jeux d’équilibre” exhibition by Argentinean artist Laura Benchetrit. The exhibition runs Sept. 11 -30.
French-Argentinean mezzo-soprano and actor, Forteza, recently debuted such as Cherubino in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” and
Lisa in the world premiere of Daniel Asia’s “The Tin Angel” with Teatro Grattacielo in NYC. She previously performed the title role in Britten’s “The Rape of Lucretia” with The Opera People in Singapore, Lola in Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” at SOPAC, the Ana Gelovani Foundation Gala at Carnegie Hall, and “Con Fuoco” with City Lyric Opera, among others.
A multifaceted artist, Samuel Bezerra is now developing a diverse international career, performing solo on tours in France, Finland, Estonia, and Brazil. Alongside his recitals, he cultivates a particular passion for chamber music through three ensembles: the Bezerra-Forteza piano and vocal duo, the Ilves-Bezerra cello and piano duo, and the Baltic Breeze trio. These ensembles regularly perform in the most prestigious concert halls in central Paris, Helsinki, and Tallinn, confirming the pianist’s artistic recognition on the international music scene.
The Maison de l’Argentine hosts the Sept. 11 concert. It will begin at 7 p.m.
