Essen Philharmonic Announces 2026-27 Season

The Essen Philharmonic has announced its 2026-27 season. Here are the vocal performances.

The Christmas concert will feature singing along with soloists and children’s and youth choirs of the Aalto Theatre and the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Dec. 5, 2026- two concerts


Ricardo Minasi conducts Bach’s “Weihnachtsoratorium” with Natalia Labourdette, Lilian de Sousa, Mykhailo Kushlyk, and Baurzhan Anderzhanov.

Performance Dates: Dec. 17 & 18, 2026


Idil Kutay, Bettina Ranch, Tilmann Unger, and Andre Nicoara lead the New Year’s concert. Andrea Sanguineti conducts.

Performance Date: Jan. 1, 2027


Bettina Ranch and Patrick Lange lead a program of music by Britten, Chausson, and Schumann.

Performance Dates: Jan. 21 & 22, 2027


Liliana de Sousa leads a program of music by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Katherine Hoover, Mason Bates, and Radamés Gnattal.

Performance Dates: Feb. 21, 2027


Jiayu Jin and Dorothee Oberlinger lead a baroque program.

Performance Date: March 4 & 5, 2027


Derek Welton, Idil Kutay, Bettina Ranch, and David Fischer lead Mendelssohn’s “Elias” with Constantin Trinks conducting.

Performance Date: April 29 & 30, 2027
