Ermonela Jaho & Yonghoon Lee to Give Recital in New York City

By Francisco Salazar

On May 17, soprano Ermonela Jaho and Yonghoon Lee will present “An Evening to Remember” at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City.

Mark Cogley will accompany the two stars in a recital that will be given in the memory of Antonia Green. All proceeds will be given to the Barbara Volcker Center for Women and Rheumatic Diseases at the hospital for Special surgery.

Jaho and Lee are currently performing at the Metropolitan Opera in a production of “Turandot.” OperaWire’s review called Jaho’s interpretation of Liù “transcendent” while noting that “for all that brawn and increased voluminous intensity that he exhibited, Lee’s interpretation was increasingly full of Franco Corelli vibes as the night progressed, imbuing Calaf with increasingly gentler vocal colors.”

The soprano is set to return to the Bayerische Staatsoper and Royal Opera House later this season. Lee has performed at the Royal Opera House, Opera Australia, and Metropolitan Opera, among others.
