Ermonela Jaho, Yolanda Auyanet & Ángel Òdena Highlight Ópera de Oviedo’s 2021-22 Season

Ópera de Oviedo has announced its 2021-22 season.

The Spanish season will open with Verdi’s “Nabucco” featuring Ángel Òdena in the title role, Silvia Dalla Benetta, Antonio Gandía, Simón Orfila, and Theresa Kronthaler. Gianluca Marcianò conducts.

Performance Dates: September 2021

The second opera of the season will be Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” with Lucas Macías Navarro conducting and Albert Estany directing a new production. The cast includes María Rey-Joly, Manel Esteve, Airam Hernández, and Jaquelina Livieri.

Performance Dates: October 2021

Puccini’s “La Bohème” will be conducted by Corrado Rovaris and will star Javier Franco, Antonio Corianò, Elena Sancho-Pereg, David Menéndez, Simona Mihai, and David Lagares.

Performance Dates: November 2021

Donizetti’s “Lucrezia Borgia” will star Yolanda Auyanet in the title role alongside Celso Albelo as Gennaro. Silvia Paoli directs the new production which also stars Silvia Tro Santafé and Roberto Tagliavini. Yves Abel conducts.

Performance Dates: December 2021

The season will conclude with Cilea’s “Adriana Lecouvreur” starring Ermonela Jaho in the title role. She will be joined by Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Alejandro Roy, Felipe Bou, and Luis Cansino. Danielle Callegari conducts the verismo masterpiece.
