Ermonela Jaho, Lisette Oropesa & Daniela Mack Lead Teatro de la Maestranza’s 2021-22 Season

The Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Spain has announced its 2021-22 season. Here is a look at the operatic and vocal performances.

Operas

Ermonela Jaho and Carmen Solís alternate the title role in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Amadi Lagha, Enrique Ferrer, Damián del Castillo, Gerardo Bullón, Moisés Marín, Felipe Bou, José Manuel Díaz, and Diana Larios. Alain Guingal conducts and Joan Anton Rechi directs.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3-9, 2021

Luis Cansino, Leonor Bonilla, Daniela Mack, Airam Hernández, and Dario Russo lead Bellini’s I Capuleti e I Montecchi” with Silvia Paoli directing and Jordi Bernácer conducting.

Performance Dates: Dec. 9-13, 2021 

Francisco Soriano conducts Viardot’s “Cinderella” in a production by Guillermo Amaya. The cast inlcudes Juliane Stolzenbach, Fran Gracia Bravo, Ramiro Maturana, Juan Ramos, Vanessa Cera, Paola Leguizamón, and Miriam Silva.

Performance Dates: Dec. 10-14, 2021 

Juan Jesús Rodríguez, Mariola Cantarero, Sandra Ferrández, María Rodríguez, Antonio Gandía, Simón Orfila star on Penella’s “El Gato Montés” with Óliver Díaz condcuting Raúl Vázquez’s production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 17 & 19, 2022 

Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” stars Edward Nelson, Mari Eriksmoen, Kyle Ketelsen, Jérôme Varnier, Marina Pardo, and Javier Castañeda with Michel Plasson condcuting Willy Decker’s production.

Performance Dates: May 22-26, 2022 

Concerts

Lisette Oropesa will perform a recital with Rubén Fernández Aguirre of Cuban and Spanish music.

Performance Date: Dec. 15, 2021

Ilse Eerens, Maarten Engeltjes, Tilman Lichdi, and Klaus Mertens perform Bach’s Mass with Ton Koopman.

Performance Dates: April 9, 2022

Carlos Mena performs in concert.
