Festival Perelada has announced its Summer 2026 season, celebrating the festival’s 40th anniversary.

Soprano Ermonela Jaho and tenor Benjamin Bernheim give the inaugural recital of the season at the Església del Carme, accompanied by pianist Marcos Madrigal. The program features works by Cilea, Puccini, Leoncavallo, Verdi, Gounod, and Massenet.

Performance Date: July 17, 2026

Bass-baritone Bryn Terfel gives a recital at the Església del Carme, accompanied by harpist Hannah Stone and pianist Annabel Thwaite. The program features Welsh folk songs, Lieder by Schubert and Schumann, works by Ivor Novello, and Wagner’s “O du mein holder Abendstern” from Tannhäuser.

Carles Prat conducts his own opera “Estètica i Massacre” directed by Oriol Pla at the Mirador del Castell. The cast features Maria Patak as soprano and Carlos Varela as baritone, with Pablo Meléndez at the piano, Álvaro Rodríguez on clarinet, Clàudia López on violin, and Jorge Bosch on percussion. The production is a co-production with the Gran Teatre del Liceu, with a libretto by Carlota Gurt.

Soprano Sabina Puértolas and pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre present the world premiere of “Diario di una Madre,” a song cycle of 14 songs and 2 piano interludes with music by Alberto García Demestres and texts by Cristina Pavarotti, at the Església del Carme.

Soprano Sara Blanch and tenor Michael Spyres give a joint recital at the Església del Carme.

The season concludes with an extraordinary concert by the Orquestra del Festival de Bayreuth at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado. The program presents highlights from Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen, with soprano Catherine Foster, tenor Klaus Florian Vogt, and bass-baritone Nicholas Brownlee as soloists.
