Erin Morley, Susanna Phillips & Rachel Willis-Sørensen Lead Houston Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-24 Season

The Houston Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2023-24 season. Here is a look at the vocal highlights.

The season opens with Juraj Valčuha conducting Erin Morley in a program of music by Messiaen, Poulenc, and Ravel.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2023

Juraj Valčuha conducts Brahms’ “German Requiem” with soloists Lauren Snouffer and Andrew Foster-Williams. The program also includes Takemitsu’s Requiem for strings.

Performance Dates: Jan. 19-21, 2024

Andres Orozco-Estrada conducts Orff’s “Carmina Burana” with the Houston Symphony Chorus.

Performance Dates: April 19-21, 2024

David Robertson conducts John Adams’ “El Nino” with Susana Phillips, Kelley O’Connor, Davóne Tines, Daniel Bubeck, Brian Cummings, and Nathan Medley.

Performance Dates: May 25 & 26, 2024

Juraj Valčuha conducts a Strauss program with Rachel Willis-Sørensen.

Performance Dates: June 1 & 2, 2024

Juraj Valčuha conducts Jennifer Holloway in the title role of Strauss’ “Salome.” The cast also includes John Daszak, Linda Watson, and Mark S. Doss.

Performance Dates: June 7 & 9, 2024
