Erato to Release Metropolitan Opera Recording of ‘The Hours’

The CD, set to be released on April 19, comes from the Met’s 2022 run which starred Joyce DiDonato, Renée Fleming and Kelli O’Hara. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the record.
Based on both the award-winning 2002 film directed by Stephen Daldry and the original novel by Michael Cunningham, “The Hours” interweaves characters and events from three different periods of the 20th century.
When the opera premiered at the Met, OperaWire said, “Joyce DiDonato, Kyle Ketelsen, Kai Edgar Shines Amidst Kevin Puts’ Gorgeous Musical Tapestry.”
“The Hours” is set to be revived this season at the Metropolitan Opera in May 2024.
