The English Touring Opera is set to present new productions of Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” and Stravinsky’s “The Rake’s Progress” for its Spring 2024 tour. There will also be a children’s opera “The Great Stink.”

The tour opens with a radical, dreamlike interpretation of “Manon Lescaut,” directed by Jude Christian. She brings a new English translation to the piece with Gerry Cornelius, ETO’s Music Director, conducting.

The production will star soprano Jenny Stafford in the title role alongside Gareth Morris, Aidan Edwards, and Edward Hawkins.

Performance Dates: Feb. 24-May 27, 2024

The tour also includes a new production of Stravinsky’s “The Rake’s Progress” directed by Polly Graham. Jack Sheen conducts a cast that includes Frederick Jones, Nazan Fikret, Jerome Knox, and Lauren Young.

Performance Dates: March 2-May 28, 2024

The spring will also include “The Great Stink,” the second in ETO’s trilogy of operas for children exploring climate change and the environment.

Performance Dates: March 10-May 28, 2024
