English National Opera Announces Two Cast Changes for ‘The Elixir of Love’

By Francisco Salazar

The English National Opera has two cast changes for its production of Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love.”

The company said that due to unforeseen circumstances, Innocent Masuku and Nmon Ford have withdrawn from the roles of Nemorino and Belcore in November 2024.

As a result, Thomas Atkins will sing Nemorino and Dan D’Souza will perform Belcore. Both will make their house debuts.

Atkins is a graduate of the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House and has performed at Glyndebourne, Opéra de Rouen Normandie, Staatsoper Hamburg, Royal Danish Opera, and Grange Park Opera.

Meanwhile, D’Souza has performed with the Northern Ireland Opera, Opera Story, Kings Head Theatre, and Wexford Festival Opera.

They will join a cast that includes Rhian Lois, and Brandon Cedel. Teresa Riveiro Böhm conducts the production by Harry Fehr.

‘The Elixir of Love” is set to be performed between Nov. 15 and Dec. 5, 2024.
