Premieres
Puccini’s “Tosca” will be conducted by Gergely Kesselyák and will star Csilla Boross and Zsuzsanna Ádám in the title role. The cast will be rounded by Attila Fekete, Adorján Pataki, Péter Kálmán, and Michele Kalmandy.

Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” and “The Beatlecracker Suite” will be performed in a double bill. Dóra Barta directs Purcell’s opera with a cast led by Eszter Balogh, Mózer Zsófia, Ágnes Anna Kun, Attila Erdős, Lóránt Najbauer, Lőrinc Kósa, Ágnes Molnár, Eszter Zemlényi, Andrea Brassói-Jőrös, Boglárka Laczák, and Judit Németh.

Iván Madarász’s “The Fifth Seal” is set to star Zoltán Kelemen, Marcell Bakonyi, Attila Fekete, András Káldi Kiss, Zoltán Megyesi, Máté Fülep, Atilla Kiss-B., Eszter Zemlényi, Erika Gál, Gabriella Létay Kiss, Lajos Geiger, and Péter Fried. János Szikora directs.

The company will present Giacomo Puccini’s “Schicchi 2.0” with Attila Toronykőy directing and Kálmán Szennai conducting. Róbert Rezsnyák, Zoltán Kelemen, and András Hábetler star in the title role alongside Orsolya Sáfár, Ágnes Molnár, Zita Szemere, Bernadett Wiedemann, Andrea Meláth, Gergely Boncsér, Péter Balczó, and Barna Bartos.

Rodrigo Sosa Dal Pozzo conducts and stars in Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” with Rita Rácz and Eszter Zemlényi. Zita Szenteczki directs the new production.

Stars with Piano
The OPERA also launches a new series titled Stars with a Piano, in which aria and song recitals are given by internationally recognized artists such as Ildar Abdrazakov, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Simon Keenlyside, Julia Lezhneva, Waltraud Meier, Olga Peretyatko, and Ramón Vargas.
The OPERA does not forget about its own stars either and will celebrate Éva Marton’s 80th birthday with a gala concert, while Gyöngyi Lukács and Ildikó Komlósi will give three recitals.
The OPERA Orchestra will accompany the gala recital of Russian lyric soprano Aida Garifullina conducted by Pier Giorgio Morandi.
