Emma Berggren & Matthew Peterson to Headline Palisades Symphony’s ‘Voices and Symphonies’

The Palisades Symphony will present “Voices and Symphonies” on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Santa Monica.

The free concert will be conducted by Music Director Maxim Kuzin and features soprano Emma Berggren and baritone Matthew Peterson.

Berggren has performed with companies including Pacific  Lyric  Association, Guild  Opera  Company, Lyric  Opera  of  Orange  County, and the Cabrillo  Chamber  Orchestra. Meanwhile, Peterson has performed with Central City Opera, the Colorado Ballet, Virginia Opera, the New England Symphony, the Mendocino Music Festival, and Opera Santa Barbara, among others.

Guest conductor Andrew Karatay will also appear on the podium.

The showcase includes selections from Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and “Un ballo in maschera” and Weber’s “Der Freischütz.” Also on the program is the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8, Grieg’s “Holberg Suite,” and the finale of Brahms’s Symphony No. 4. Also included is Zoraqi’s “Kaba for Orchestra,” inspired by a traditional Albanian folk genre.
