Emily Magee Headlines The Dallas Opera ‘Tosca’ LiveStream

The Dallas Opera is set to stream Puccini’s “Tosca” from a 2015 production.

The company will stream Puccini’s work on Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Central Time and will make it available to viewers until Saturday, March 27, 2021. Those interested in viewing must register online at dallasopera.org/tosca-video-stream.

The “Tosca” recording was conducted by Emmanuel Villaume, TDO’s acclaimed Mrs. Eugene McDermott music director and stars American soprano Emily Magee in the title role of Floria Tosca, Chilean tenor Giancarlo Monsalve in his TDO debut as Mario Cavaradossi, and bass Raymond Aceto Baron Scarpia.

The cast is rounded out by Ryan Kuster as Cesare Angelotti, William Ferguson as Spoletta, Dale Travis as Sacristan,  Robert Wesley Mason as Sciarrone, Christopher Harrison as the Jailer, and Campbell S. Collins III as the Shepherd Boy.

The production was directed by Ellen Douglas Schlaefer.

Tosca is the latest free live stream The Dallas Opera presents following “Carmen” and “The Magic Flute.” The opera will have English language subtitles.
