Emily D’Angelo, Daniela Mack, Diana Montague, Anna Dennis Headline The English Concert’s Spring & Summer 2022 Slate

The English Concert has announced its spring and summer 2022 slate.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

First up will Bach’s “St. John Passion” directed by Peter Whelan. The work will feature Rachel Redmond, Helen Charlston, Mauro Peter, Konstantin Wolff, and Ashley Riches.

Performance Dates: April 1, 2022 (Wigmore Hall)

The company will present “Serse” in four cities with a cast headlined by Emily D’Angelo, Lucy Crowe, Mary Bevan, Neal Davies, Daniela Mack, and William Dazeley. The performances will take place at St. Martin-in-the-fields, Carnegie Hall, Pamplona, and Sage Gateshead.

Performance Dates: May 5-25, 2022

The company will then present “Orfeo” with Garsington Opera. Laurence Cummings conducts a production starring Diana Montague, Claire Lees, Ed Lyons, Lauren Joyanne Morris, Laura Fleur, and Zoe Drummond.

Performance Dates: June 1-July 3, 2022

Also at Garsington Opera, the company will present “Così fan tutte” with Camila Titinger, Polly Leech, Seán Boylan, Henry Waddington, Ailish Tynan, and Gavan Ring. The opera will be conducted by Tobias Ringborg.

Performance Dates: June 2-July 20, 2022

Soprano Anna Dennis will appear in a concert focusing on the rivalry between Händel and Bononcini at the Buxton International Festival and Cheltenham Music Festival.

Performance Dates: July 11 & 15, 2022
