Ellie Dehn, Craig Colclough, Norman Garrett, Stephanie Blythe & Efraín Solís Lead Minnesota Opera’s 2026-27 Season

The Minnesota Opera has announced its 2026-27 season.

The season opens with Kamala Sankaram and Minita Gandhi’s “The Many Deaths of Laila Starr” which was commissioned and developed through Minnesota Opera’s New Works Initiative. Christopher Franklin conducts the production by Mary Birnbaum. The cast includes Leela Subramaniam, Omar Najimi, Efraín Solís, Mariam Mouawad,  Ashraf Sewailam, and Emily Finke.

Performance Dates: Oct. 31-Nov. 8, 2026


Händel’s “Ariodante” will star Julia Holoman, Ellie Dehn, Emily Finke, John Mburu, Calvin Griffin, and Ángel Vargas. Joseph Li conducts.

Performance Dates: March 13-21, 2027


The season concludes with Verdi’s “Falstaff” featuring Craig Colclough, Ellie Dehn, Norman Garrett, Stephanie Blythe, Emily Finke, Ángel Vargas, Julia Holoman, Daniel Montenegro, John Mburu, and Brian Frutiger. Christopher Franklin conducts the production.

Performance Dates: May 8-16, 2027
