Elizabeth S. Condic to Be Interim Executive Director & CEO of Houston Symphony

By David Salazar

The Houston Symphony has announced that Elizabeth S. Condic, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, is taking on the role of Interim Executive Director and CEO.

She will take over for outgoing CEO John Mangum, who is taking over the role of General Director, President, and CEO of Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Condic first started working with the organization in November 2017 and was key to its efforts in overcoming such challenges as Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to her time with the Houston Symphony, Condic has worked in the nonprofit sector with University of St. Thomas and the University of Mary. Her tenure commences in October 2024.

In the meantime, the company is doing a search for a permanent CEO and Executive Director with support from The Catherine French Group.
