Elizabeth Llewellyn, Marina Monzo & Alexia Voulgaridou Lead Welsh National Opera’s 2022 Spring Season

The Welsh National Opera has announced its spring 2022 season.

The season opens with a revival of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with two casts led by Simon Bailey, Joshua Bloom, Marina Monzo, Linda Richardson, Andrei Kymach, Duncan Rock, James Platt, Trystan Llŷr Griffiths, Kenneth Tarver, Sarah Tynan, Meeta Ravel, Harriet Eyley, Isabelle Peters, James Atkinson, and Gareth Brynmor John. Tobias Ringborg and Frederick Brown share conducting duties.

Performance Dates: Feb. 18-May 13, 2022

Janáček’s “Jenůfa” gets a revival with Elizabeth Llewellyn in the title role alongside Sian Meinir, Peter Berger, Peter Auty, Isabelle Peters, Aaron O’Hare, Angela Denoke, Eliska Weissova, Rhodri Prys Jones, Adam Gilbert, and Sion Goronwy. Tomáš Hanus conducts.

Performance Dates: March 5-May 10, 2022

Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” concludes the season with Leonardo Caimi, Alexia Voulgaridou, Tom Randle, Kezia Bienek, Gareth Brynmor John, Keel Watson, and Sion Goronwy. James Southall conducts.

Performance Dates: March 16-May 14, 2022
