By Francisco Salazar

Elizabeth Caballero is set to jump into the Jan. 10 performance of “La Bohème” at the Staatsoper Stuttgart.

The soprano announced via social media stating “Bohème strikes yet again. Jumping in tomorrow night Staatsoper Stuttgaart as Mimi in ‘La Bohème.’ Gonna be a whirlwind of a day.”

She will sing the role of Mimì on short notice, alongside a cast that includes Pavel Valuzhin, Andrew Bogard, Johannes Kammler, Jasper Leever, and Aoife Gibney. Christopher Schmitz conducts the production by Andrea Moses.

Caballero is currently in rehearsals for a new production of “Cecilia Valdes” at the Teatro de La Zarzuela, where she will star in the title role. She is also set to cover “La Traviata” at the Metropolitan Opera in February before heading back to Stuttgaart for “Mefistofele.” She also sings with the Portland Symphony in Verdi’s Requiem and the Pacific Symphony.
