The Ópera de Las Palmas has announced its 2020 season which will mark its 53th season.

The season opens with Verdi’s “Falstaff” starring Roberto de Candia in the title role.

Performance Dates: Feb. 11-15, 2020

Donizetti’s “L’Elisir D’Amore” opens in a new production by Víctor García, who was inspired by Botero for the production. The cast will include Pietro Spagnoli

Performance Dates: March 3-7, 2020

Elina Garanča makes her role debut as Amneris in Verdi’s “Aida” conducted by her husband Karel Mark Chichon.

Performance Dates: March 31-April 5, 2020

Puccini’s “La Bohème” will mark the fourth opera of the season with Karel Mark Chichon conducting.

Performance Dates: May 19-23, 2020

The final production of the season will be Verdi’s “La Traviata.” Rafael Sánchez Araña is set to direct the production with Celso Albelo and Jessica Pratt.
