Elena Stikinha, Alexei Markov, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Albina Shagimuratova Headline Mariinsky Theatre’s Fall 2021 Season

The Mariinsky Theatre has announced the operas it will present throughout September and October 2021.

The company will showcase “The Maid of Orleans” with a cast starring Ekaterina Semenchuk, Maria Bayankin, Sergei Skorohodov, Mikhail Petrenko, Vladislav Kupriyanov, Alexei Markov, and Evgeny Nikitin under the baton of Valery Gergiev.

Performance Dates: Sept. 8 & Oct. 9, 2021

“Le Nozze di Figaro” will star Vadim Kravets, Kira Loginova, Ekaterina Solovyova, and Evgeny Ulanov. A second cast stars Kravets, Violetta Lukyanenko, Viktoria Yastrebova, and Vladimir Moroz, while a third cast stars Irina Mataeva, Anastasia Kalagina, Kravets, and Sergei Romanov.

Performance Date: Sept. 8, Oct. 18 & 21, 2021

Valery Gergiev will lead “Tannhäuser” with a cast that stars Mikhail Vekua, Irina Churilov, and Julia Matochkina. Vekua will be joined by Yevgenia Muravieva, and Roman Burdenko in a second performance.

Performance Date: Sept. 9 & Oct. 24, 2021

Evgeny Nikitin, Tatiana Serzhan, Sergei Skorokhodov, and Vladislav Sulimsky will headline “Attila.”

Performance Date: Sept. 10, 2021

“Die Fledermaus” will star Sergei Semishkur, Oxana Shilova, Antonina Vesenina, Denis Zakirov, Sergei Romanov, and Yekaterina Sergeyeva.

Performance Date: Sept. 11, 2021

“Iolanta” will feature Yekaterina Goncharova, Yevgeny Akimov, Alexei Markov, Mikhail Kit, and Nikolai Putilin.

Performance Date: Sept. 12, 2021

Maria Bayankina, Hovhannes Ayvazyan, and Vadim Kravets will star in “La Fanciulla del West.”

Performance Date: Sept. 14, 2021

Anna Markarova, Nadezhda Serdyuk, Oleg Videman, Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, Alexander Morozov, and Mikhail Kolelishvili will headline “Aida.” A second cast stars Tatiana Serjan, Akhmed Agadi, Vladislav Sulimsky, Yevgeny Nikitin, and Mikhail Petrenko.

Performance Date: Sept. 14 & 29, 2021

“Madama Butterfly’s” cast will be star Viktoria Yastrebova, Migran Agadzhanyan, Natalia Yevstafieva, Yefim Zavalny, and Andrei Zorin.

Performance Date: Sept. 15, 2021

Aigul Khismatullina, Gamid Abdulov, Andrei Serov, Oleg Sychov, Zlata Bulycheva, and Kristina Alieva will appear in “Pelléas et Mélisande.” A second cast stars Anna Denisova and Yegor Chubakov in the title roles.

Performance Date: Sept. 16 & Oct. 18, 2021

Anastasia Kalagina, Alexander Mikhailov, and Vladislav Kupriyanov will perform in “Carmina Burana.”

Performance Date: Sept. 17, 2021

Otar Jorjikia, Irina Churilova, Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, Anna Kiknadze, and Mikhail Petrenko will headline “Un Ballo in Maschera.”

Performance Date: Sept. 18, 2021

“Die Zauberflöte” will star Olga Pudova, Elena Karpesh, Daniil Shtoda, Askar Abdrazakov, Margarita Ivanova, and Yaroslav Petryanik.

“I Vespri Siciliani” will feature Zhanna Dombrovskaya, Denis Zakirov, Vladislav Sulimsky, and Vladimir Feliauer.

Valery Gergiev will lead a performance of “Die Frau ohne Schatten.” The cast stars Elena Pankratova, Vadim Kravets, Mlada Khudoley, Andreas Schager, and Olga Savova.

There will be a concert performance of Franchetti’s “Cristofor Colombo” starring Vladimir Moroz, Yekaterina Goncharova, Migran Agadzhanyan, Yuri Vlasov, and Stanislav Leontiev. Alvise Casellati conducts.

Performance Date: Sept. 28, 2021

The company will premiere “Renard. Mavra. The Fairy’s Kiss,” three works by Stravinsky with such artists as Valery Gergiev, Yevgeny Akimov, Anna Kiknadze, Irina Churilova, Alexander Timchenko, Alexander Trofimov, and Yuri Vlasov.

Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Christmas Eve” will star Alexander Mikhailov, Ekaterina Sannikova, Anna Kiknadze, Vladimir Vaneyev, and Alexander Gerasimov.

There will be a new production of “Benvenuto Cellini,” “Les Huguenots” and “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” later in the season.
