Elena Sancho Pereg Joins ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’ at Gran Teatre Del Liceu

The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced that soprano Elena Sancho Pereg will perform the role of Stella in the upcoming production of Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” on Jan. 18, 19, 25, 28 & 31, 2021.

Soprano Adriana González must spend 10 days in preventive isolation, in accordance with the COVID-19 regulations. González will perform the role of Stella on Jan. 20, 21, 26, 30, and Feb. 1, 2021.

Sancho Pereg will join a cast that includes Rocío Pérez and Olga Pudova as Olympia; Ermonela Jaho in the role of Antonia; Ginger Costa Jackson and Nino Surguladze in the role of Giulietta; Marina Viotti and Carol García in the role of La musa / Nicklausse; Aleksander Vinogradov and Roberto Tagliavini in the roles of Lindorf / Coppélius / Doctor Miracle / Capità Dapertutto; Francisco Vas as Spalanzani; Laura Vila as La veu de la tomba; and John Osborn and Arturo Chacón-Cruz in the title role.

Riccardo Frizza will conduct the production by Laurent Pelly.

Elena Sancho Pereg recently performed the roles of Nannetta in Verdi’s “Falstaff” and Morgana in Handel’s “Alcina” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Oscar in Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera” at the Teatro Real de Madrid. The soprano is scheduled to perform the role of Adina in Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” at the Ópera ABAO Bilbao in February 2021.
