Elena Mosuc To Sing At 65th Split Summer Festival

By Francisco Salazar

Elena Mosuc is set to take on her signature role as Gilda in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” at the 65th Split Summer Festival.

After a successful concert with Thomas Hampson at the Ljubljana Festival, Mosuc will reprise her iconic role, Gilda, after two years from her successful performances at the Arena di Verona.

Gilda was one of the first roles in the Rumanian-Swiss soprano’s repertoire and she has since portrayed the role at the Opernhaus Zurich, Teatro alla Scala, Arena di Verona, and many other important houses.

The soprano will be joined by Amir Saračević as the Duke of Mantua and Elia Fabbian in the title role. The production will be conducted by Ivo Lipanović and directed by Dražen Siriščević

Performances are scheduled for July 14 and 17 at the Peristil of Diocletian’s Palace.
