Ekaterina Semenchuk to Appear in Recital at Palau de les Arts

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will present a recital featuring mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk on April 14, 2024.

The mezzo will be joined by pianist Semyon Skigin as they present works by Glinka and Mussorgsky. Per an official press statement Semencuk has called the first part a “Goodbye to St. Petersburg.”

In the second half she performs “Songs and Dances of Death” by Mussorgsky.

Last year, Semenchuk performed a “Tribute to St Petersburg” at the Mariinsky Theatre as well as a production of “Aida” alongside Elena Stikhina and Valery Gergiev at the same theater. She also appeared at the Bayerische Staatsoper in “Nabucco” and “Aida” as well as the Teatro alla Scala and the Arena di Verona.
