Edward Gardner to Become Honorary Conductor of Bergen Philharmonic

Edward Gardner has been named the honorary Conductor of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra after departing from his position as chief conductor.

He has held the position for nine years in the position, with two additional years as Principal Guest Conductor from 2013.

Gardner has led the orchestra in more than 200 concerts, as well as on a series of international tours and 22 critically acclaimed recordings. With the orchestra, he won the Gramophone Record of the Year and Opera of the Year.

Gardner will next take a new role as Music Director at Den Norske Opera and Ballett. He is also the Principal Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
