Edmonton Opera Announces 2020-21 Season

The Edmonton Opera has announced its 2020-21 Season featuring three productions including one West Canadian premiere. Here is a look.

Puccini’s “La Bohème” opens the season with Andrew Haji, Miriam Khalil, Lara Ciekiewicz, Peter Barrett, Stephen Hegedus, and Aaron Dimoff. Peter Dala conducts the opera with a libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa in a production by Alain Gauthier.

Performance Dates: Oct. 24-30, 2020

Cosette Justo Valdés conducts Mozart’s “Così Fan Tutte” in a production by François Racine. The cast includes Jennifer Taverner, Stephanie Tritchew, Clarence Frazer, Asitha Tennekoon, Caitlin Wood, and Giles Tomkins.

Performance Dates: Jan. 30-Feb. 5, 2021

Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” will receive its Western Canadian Premiere with Peter Dala conducting and Michael Cavanagh directing. Tracy Cantin stars in the title role with Catherine Daniel as Jane Seymour, John Tessier as Percy, and Kirk Eichelberger as Enrico.

Performance Dates: March 13-19, 2021
