Dvořák International Music Festival Olomouc to Showcase Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony
By David SalazarThe Dvořák International Music Festival Olomouc is returning after a three-year hiatus, with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc reviving the celebrated event as part of its 80th concert season.
Running from May 7 to June 14, 2026, the festival carries the theme “New World, New Opportunities” — a nod both to Dvořák’s American years and to the festival’s own rebirth.
While the festival will feature a wide array of performances, the lone vocal highlight of the festival comes on May 22, when the visiting Józef Elsner Opole Philharmonic joins the Moravian Theatre Choir for a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Reduta.
The soloists for the iconic work incllude soprano Helena Beránková, alto Jana Sýkorová, tenor Raman Hasymau, and baritone Daniel Kfelíř, all of the Moravian Theatre. Jakub Chrenowicz conducts the showcase.
