The Royal Concertgebouw and De Nationale Opera have announced that they are forced to cut the number of audience members for upcoming concerts and operas following a new restrictive measure brought forth by the Dutch government.

Per official statements, both venues will be allowed to admit up to 1,250 spectators per the performance. Since the Royal Concertgebouw has 1,974 seats in its Great Hall and De Nationale Opera has 1,600 seats, both venues have announced that they will contact ticket buyers in order to comply with the new measures.

Additionally, De Nationale Opera made an urgent request to ticket buyers not to contact the theater box office, as they will be contacted by e-mail starting Nov. 15, 2021.

The government of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has announced a new partial lockdown following a big surge in COVID-19 infections throughout the country.

Limits on the number of visitors at the Royal Concertgebouw and De Nationale Opera will initially last until Dec. 4, 2021. Both venues have advised ticket buyers and potential visitors to  check their official websites for updates.
