Dunedin Consort Unveils 30th Anniversary Season

The Dunedin Consort announces its 2025-26 season.

For the purpose of this article only voice performances are included.

Bach’s “Matthew Passion,” BWV 244, features soloists Rowan Pierce, Hugh Cutting, Nicholas Mulroy, Marcus Farnsworth, Sarah Anne Champion, Hiroshi Amako, and Christopher Webb. John Butt directs.

Performance Date: September 10, 2025


Bach’s “Markus Passion,” BWV 247, is presented with Concert Theatre Works. Anna Dennis, James Hall, Nicholas Mulroy, and Matthew Brook solo, with actor Joseph Marcell. John Butt serves as music director and
Bill Barclay is the writer and stage director.

Performance Date: September 15, 2025


Soprano Charlotte Bowden performs works by Handel, Biber, and Bach with Dunedin Strings.

Performance Dates: October 16-19, 2025


“Purcell: Raise the voice” features Jessica Cale, Samuel Boden, Christopher Webb, and Nicholas Mulroy who also directs.

Performance Dates: November 15-18, 2025


“Children’s Messiah” written by Megan Shandley is performed by the singers and musicians of Dunedin Consort. John Butt directs.

Performance Dates: December 17-19, 2025


The premiere of Tansy Davies’ “Passion of Mary Magdalene” features Anna Dennis and Marcus Farnsworth. John Butt directs.

Performance Date: March 24, 2026


Bach’s “Matthew Passion,” BWV 244, returns with Carine Tinney, Reginald Mobley, Toby Spence, and Drew Santini. Kristian Bezuidenhout directs.

Performance Dates: April 2 & 3, 2026


The Singers of Dunedin Consort led by Ellie Slorach present a concert of works by John Sheppard, Caroline Shaw, John Taverner, Randall Thompson, Aaron Jay Kernis, and Jake Runestad.

Performance Dates: April 24 -26, 2026


Alexander Chance, the Dunedin Consort and players from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland present works by Bach, Telemann, and Graupner. John Butt directs.
