Druid City Opera to Present ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’

Druid City Opera has announced the cast for its upcoming production of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”

The company, which is in its fourth season in Tuscaloosa, will showcase the Rossini work with Scott Purcell in the title role. He will be joined by Nicholas Simpson as Count Almaviva, Arianna Paz Ritaccio as Rosina, Peter Morgan as Bartolo, and Joseph Baunoch as Basilio. Sophia Dornellas and Benjamin Somervell round out the cast as Berta and Fiorello.

Paul Houghtaling will produce and direct, while Richard Master will conduct the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra.

“Il barbiere di Siviglia” will be performed on May 22, 2025 at Bryant-Jordan Hall.
