The Donizetti Opera Festival has confirmed that it will go on with performances from Nov. 19 to Dec. 6, 2020.

The festival said in a press release that it will adapt to new restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic and will announce more details about its program in the coming weeks.

It also announced that there will be a new online initiative entitled “Donizetti Revolution” that will focus on the composer and will be exclusively for the web. Additionally, the Donizetti Night 2020 has been canceled and will resume in 2021 due to the pandemic. Music performances that were originally programmed for Donizetti Night will be performed during the festival.

The festival also announced that Francesco Micheli, soprano Carmela Remigio, baritone Paolo Bordogna, bass Alex Esposito, and pianist Sem Cerritelli will headline a program entitled “Nel cuore di Gaetano” on August 22.
