The Donizetti Foundation has announced Donizetti Web TV.

The new web channel will be dedicated to works by the famed Italian composer and will feature the operas that are scheduled for the 2020 Donizetti Opera Festival at the restored Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo as well as interviews and insights into the work of the protagonists of the pit and of the stage.

The channel will inaugurate with Donizetti Revolution Edition on Oct. 31, 2020, showcasing artistic director Francesco Micheli guiding the public to discover the operas which will be staged. He will offer a preview of the newly restored Donizetti Theater.

There will also be special guests including Music Director Riccardo Frizza and look into the original synthesis of music, words, images, and videos of Donizetti. This will be the first initiative of “GaetAmo Donizetti,” ideas and experiences online around the figure of the composer to spread, even more, its revolutionary message.

The Donizetti Opera Festival is currently set to open on Nov. 19 with “Belisario” starring Plácido Domingo.
