Donizetti Opera Festival Announces 2020 Operas

The Donizetti Opera Festival has announced its 2020 season.

Artistic director Francesco Micheli and music director Riccardo Frizza announced that the 2020 festival will include “Marino Faliero” in an edition by Maria Chiara Bertieri and “La Fille du Régiment” in a new edition by Claudio Toscani in collaboration with Casa Ricordi.

Micheli announced the news during the 2019 festival which is underway and which is currently showing “Pietro Il Grande” and the first staged production of “L’Ange de Nisida.” The festival is also showcasing a new production of “Lucrezia Borgia” which is set to star Carmela Remigio and recent Operalia winner Xabier Anduaga.

The festival also announced that for the Donizetti200 project it will present “Le nozze in villa.”

The festival will be presented from Nov. 19 to Dec. 6, 2020.
