Distinguished Concerts International New York Present Carol Barnett’s ‘The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass’

The Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) will perform Carol Barnett’s “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass” on Feb. 18, 2024 at Carnegie Hall.

Along with the Distinguished Concerts Singers International are Downtown Voices, the GPS Singers, Dubuque Chorale, McCallie Men’s Chorus, Green Hope High School Voices Of Hope, Nashville Symphony Chorus, SMS Heritage Singers, Northport High School Tour Choir. The ensemble is led by DCINY Guest Conductor Tucker Biddlecombe.

Downtown Voices also perform a solo act including pieces by Rachmaninoff, Schönberg, and Sheehan, directed by Stephen Sands.

Barnett’s “A Bluegrass Mass” incorporates a traditional SATB choir and soloists with fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, and bass over text by Marisha Chamberlain.
