By Francisco Salazar

Diana Damrau will be at the Met Opera shop this May 4 at 3 P.M. EDT signing copies of her latest album.

The German soprano is releasing a CD dedicated to the works of Meyerbeer, featuring arias from the composer’s popular opera “Le Prophète,” “L’Africaine,” “Robert Le Diable,” “Les Huguenots,” and rarer works like “Emma di Resburgo,” “Il Crociato in Egitto,” and “L’Etoile du Nord.” The recording features arias in Italian, German, and French and is conducted by Emmanuel Villaume. Damrau is accompanied by the Orchestra National de Lyon.

The soprano also recently released two DVDs with Erato. The first was Salieri’s “Europa Riconosciuta” and the second was Bizet’s “The Pearl Fishers.”

Damrau recently scored a huge success at the Met in a new production of Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette” and Bellini’s “I Puritani.” She also performed at the LA Opera in Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffman” and will embark on a tour dedicated to the Bel Canto repertoire.

Other major artists have signed albums this season at the Met Opera shop, including Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo, Pretty Yende, Jamie Barton, Krassimira Stoyanova and Sonya Yoncheva among others.
