Diana Damrau will auction off some of her evening gowns this month to help Theater Ulm.

The soprano will help the theater, which was extensively damaged by a fire, and will perform with the opera ensemble and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Ulm. Damrau will perform music by Mozart, Verdi, Rossi, Strauss, Lehár and many other composers.

The gala will be held on Oct. 29, 2026.

Theater Ulm suffered damage in the external prop and costume warehouse in the old Paketposthalle near the Ulm central station on the night of June 24 and 25, 2025. Around 27,000 costumes (including historic pieces, ballet dresses, and uniforms) plus hundreds of props, furniture, and instruments were destroyed.
