Diana Damrau & Kirill Petrenko Headline Broadcast from Berlin Philharmonic

Rai5 will broadcast a 2019 concert from the Berlin Philharmonic featuring soprano Diana Damrau on Jan. 6 at 9:15 p.m. CET.

The Berlin Philharmonic Chief Conductor Kirill Petrenko conducted.

The program for the concert includes the overture from “Girl Crazy” and “An American in Paris” by George Gershwin; “If I loved you” from “Carousel” by Richard Rodgers; “I feel pretty” and Symphonic Dances from “West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein; Lady in the Dark, Symphonic Nocturne, and “Foolish Heart” from “One Touch of Venus” by Kurt Weill; “Over the Rainbow” from “The Wizard of Oz” by Harold Arlen; and “Send in the clowns” from “A little Night Music” by Stephen Sondheim.

Damrau is scheduled to return to the stage in the role of The Countess for a production of Richard Strauss’ “Capriccio” at the Opéra National de Paris in January and February 2021.
