Diana Damrau, Jonas Kaufmann, Sarah Connolly & Juan Diego Flórez Lead Palau de la Música Catalana’s 2024-25 Season

The Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Spain has announced its 2024-25 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances.

Palau 100 

Sarah Connolly jons Anima Aeterna Brugge and Pablo Heras-Casado for Mahler’s “Rückert Lieder.” The program also includes music by Bruckner.

Performance Date: Oct. 24, 2024

Philippe Herreweghe leads a program that includes pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout, Collegium Vocale Gent, and the Orchestre des Champs Élysées.The program is comprised of music by Beethoven.

Performance Date: Nov. 21, 2024

Anna Prohaska and Najwa Nimri perform Wainwright’s Dream requiem with Orfeó Català, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, Nacional de Catalunya, and Ludovic Morlot.

Performance Date: Jan. 25, 2025

C. Monteverdi’s “Vespro della Beata Vergine” will be performed by Núria Rial, Natalie Pérez, Xavier Sabata, Zachary Wilder, Emiliano González Toro, and Fulvio Bettini. The Ensemble I Gemelli is led by Emiliano González Toro.

Performance Date: Feb. 17, 2025

Regula Mühlemann, Eva Zaïcik, and Julian Prégardien perform Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. The Balthasar Neumann Chor & Orchester are led by Thomas Hengelbrock.

Daniel Harding conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.

Performance Date: May 26, 2025

Palau Opera

Alicia Amo, Mercedes Gancedo, Anna Alàs, Rafael Quirant, Jorge Navarro, and Roger Padullés star in D. Terradellas’ “Giuseppe riconosciuto.” The Vespres d’Arnadí is conducted by Dani Espasa.

Performance Date: Oct. 24, 2024

Vivaldi’s  “Il Giustino” will star Emőke Baráth, Ana Maria Labin, Arianna Vendittelli, Silke Gäng, Delphine Galou, Alessandro Giangrande, and Emiliano González Toro. Ottavio Dantone is set to be conducted by Accademia Bizantina.

Performance Date: April 28, 2025

Händel’s “Tamerlano” will star Polina Pastirchak, Helena Rasker, Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian, Alex Chance, Thomas Walker, and Matthias Winckhler.  The Freiburger Barockorchester is led by René Jacobs

Great Voices

Juan Diego Flórez and the Sinfonía por el Perú perform arias and Latin American songs.

Performance Date: Sept. 21, 2024

Iréne Theorin, Sarah Connolly, and Julius Drake perform Lieder by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, and Mahler

Philippe Jaroussky and Jérôme Ducros perform Lieder by Mozart, Haydn, and Schubert.
