Diana Damrau, Javier Camarena & Thomas Hampson Headline Opernhaus Zürich’s Reopening Recitals

The Opernhaus Zürich has announced it will reopen its doors in July.

The company announced that following the Swiss government’s regulations in order to minimize the spread of the coronavirus, the theater will showcase recitals with a maximum of 300 audience members.

The recitals, which will begin on July 2 and run through July 12,  will feature such artists as Diana Damrau, Camilla Nylund, Julie Fuchs, Sabine Devieilhe, Piotr Beczala, Thomas Hampson, Javier Camarena, Benjamin Bernheim, Fabio Luisi, and Riccardo Minasi.

The complete program will be revealed next week.

The theater also confirmed that it will move forward with its 2020-21 season which will open with a new production of Boris Godunov.

Opernhaus Zürich is the latest European house to announce its reopening following the Oper Frankfurt, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and Musikverein Wien.
