Diana Damrau has canceled her Johann Strauss concerts “Wiener G’schichten” on May 4 and 7, 2025 due to a family bereavement.

The soprano took to social media, “It is with deep regret that I must inform you that, due to a bereavement in the closest circle of my family, I have to cancel the Johann Strauss concerts ‘Wiener G’schichten’ on 4 May 2025 at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and ‘Feuer, Lebenslust’ on 7 May 2025 at the Musikverein Vienna. My team is already working on alternative dates, so that I can hopefully present this unique concert program to you soon.

“Now the time has come for me to mourn quietly in the company of my loved ones. Thank you very much for your understanding and I am looking forward to seeing you again soon. Yours, Diana.”

Damrau was set to perform Johann Strauss’ music with conductor Ernst Theis and Michael Dangl.
