Diana Damrau has announced her upcoming album entitled “Tudor Queens.”

The new recording sees the coloratura soprano taking on the crowns of three different Tudor queens, the central characters in operas by Donizetti. In the new album, she performs the final scenes of Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena,” “Maria Stuarda,” and “Roberto Devereux.”

Damrau is accompanied by Sir Antonio Pappano and the Orchestra and Chorus of Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Damrau has already performed the title role of “Maria Stuarda” at the Opernhaus Zurich and Deutsche Oper Berlin and has been hailed for her interpretation with critics stating, “She commands a voice that seems to have no limits. Her coloratura is stunning, her vocal range impressive, and her dynamic shadings are breath-taking. Damrau is in a class of her own.”

The soprano is set to perform the role of Maria Stuarda at the Opernhaus Zurich, “Il Pirata” at the Metropolitan Opera, and “Capriccio” at the Paris Opera this season.
