Great Performances from the Metropolitan Opera will present Poulenc’s “Dialogues des Carmélites” on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 at 12 p.m. EDT.

The performance was presented Live in HD on the final day of the Metropolitan Opera’s 2018-19 season and featured Isabel Leonard as Blanche de la Force. Erin Morley, Karita Mattila, Adrianne Pieczonka, and Karen Cargill also star under the musical direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

Regarding the performance and how it fit into the Met’s overall season, OperaWire’s review noted that “The Met’s season didn’t get off to the best of starts, but you couldn’t script a more cathartic ending.”

This is the final broadcast of the season via Great Performances at the Met. However, viewers can stay tuned for the 2019-20 season when they will get a chance to watch such works as “Porgy and Bess,” “Manon,” “Turandot,” “Wozzeck,” “Der Fliegende Holländer,” “Akhnaten,” “Agrippina,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Tosca,” and “Maria Stuarda” with such stars as Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau, Joyce DiDonato, Eric Owens, Michael Fabiano, Angel Blue, Bryn Terfel, Elza van den Heever, Peter Mattei, J’Nai Bridges, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Lisette Oropesa, and Plácido Domingo, among others.
