Deutsche Oper Berlin Cancels Performances of ‘Der Zwerg,’ ‘Aida,’ ‘ Die Zauberflöte’

The Deutsche Oper Berlin has canceled several performances due to COVID-19.

The company announced that due to an infection within the ensemble of the production of Zemlinsky’s “Der Zwerg,” it has been forced to cancel all performances on Jan. 15, 21, and 28.

The company also noted that the Jan. 16 performance of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and the Jan. 24 performance of Verdi’s “Aida” have also been canceled.

The Deutsche Oper Berlin will contact all ticket buyers in order to receive a full refund or exchange for another performance.

“Der Zwerg” was set to star Heidi Stober, Emily Magee, David Butt Philip, Mick Morris Mehnert, and Philipp Jekal. Sir Donald Runnicles was set to conduct the production by Tobias Kratzer.
