The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced cast changes for “Les Vêpres Siciliennes” and “Aida.”

The company said that for the May 3, 11, and 22 2025 performances, Michael Bachtazde will take over the role of Amonasro in “Aida” for George Petean.

Meanwhile, for the performances on May 18, 24, and 31, Dong-Hwan Lee will take over the role of Guy de Montfort in “Les Vêpres Siciliennes” from George Petean.

Petean is slated to sing “Don Carlo” in Munich and “Il Trovatore” at the Berlin State Opera during these dates.

As a result, Bachtazde will join a cast that includes Judit Kutasi, Hulkar Sabirova, and SeokJong Baek while Lee will sing alongside Hulkar Sabirova, Valentyn Dytiuk, and Roberto Tagliavini.
