The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced a cast change for its “Best of ‘La Gioconda'” concert.

The company announced that Hui He will replace Iréne Theorin in the title role. The change marks the second cast switch following Theorin replacing Irina Churilova, who was originally announced.

Hui He first sang the role at the Teatro Verdi di Salerno and went on to perform the opera in Berlin and Brussels. Hui He is a well-known soprano who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Arena di Verona, Wiener, Opernhaus Zurich, and Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Joseph Calleja, Judit Kutasi, Marko Mimica, George Gagnidze, and Beth Taylor. Ivan Repusic conducts the concerts scheduled to open on Sept. 24.
