The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced that the mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili has canceled her participation in concert performances “Best of Don Carlo” in the role of Eboli.

As a result, Judit Kutasi will perform the role. Kutasi will join the cast that includes Yosep Kang as Don Carlo, Davide Luciano as Rodrigo, Patrick Guetti as the Grand Inquisitor, and Dinara Alieva in the role of Elisabetta di Valois. Sir Donald Runnicles conducts the performances set for June 11 & 13, 2021.

Rachvelisvili is scheduled to perform the role of Amneris in Verdi‘s “Aida” at the Arena di Verona on June 26, before taking on the role of Azucena in “Il Trovatore” in July at the Teatro di San Carlo.

Kutasi recently performed the role of Princess di Bouillon in Cilea‘s “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Opera di Genova. The mezzo-soprano is scheduled to perform the role of Erda in Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Bayerische Staatsoper in June and July 2021.
