Deutsche Oper am Rhein Names New Chorus Master

The Deutsche Oper am Rhein has announced Albert Horne as the new chorus master.

Horne will begin in his new position during the 2025-26 season and will succeed Gerhard Michalski.

Horne has been Chorus Master & Conductor at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in Germany since 2014. He holds a Master’s Degree in Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and has also been the Chorus Master and Conductor for Cape Town Opera from 2007 to 2014.

As an orchestral conductor, he has worked with the Orchestra Victoria (Melbourne), the Orchestre Pasdeloup (Paris) and at the opera houses in Bordeaux, Malmö, Tel Aviv, London (ENO), and Cardiff (WNO).
