Deutsche Oper am Rhein Announces New Kapellmeister

The Deutsche Oper am Rhein has announced that Harry Ogg will be its new Kapellmeister.

Ogg will kick off his tenure during the 2022-23 season and will hold the post for two seasons.

Among the operas that he will conduct with the company this season are “Die Tote Stadt,” “Tosca,” “Don Giovanni,” “Hänsel und Gretel,” and “Die Zauberflöte.”

He has worked with such opera companies as Opera Holland Park, the Theater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, the British Youth Orchestra, and the Aujols Music Festival, leading such works as “The Cunning Little Vixen,” “The Turn of the Screw,” “Madama Butterfly,” and “Königskinder,” among others.

Ogg is set to make debuts with such organizations as Les Siècles, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg and Orchester Symphonique de Mulhouse while also returning to perform with such organizations as the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, SWR Symphonieorchester, and Dresden Philharmonie.
