Deutsche Oper am Rhein Announces Cast Change for ‘La Traviata’
By Francisco SalazarThe Deutsche Oper am Rhein has announced a cast change for the March 2, 2025 performance of “La Traviata.”
The company said that Luiza Fatyol will sing the role of Violetta replacing Adela Zaharia who is ill.
Zaharia also took to social media and said, “Bad News…I sang the Traviata performance yesterday sick- not everyone could notice (thank heavens for technique) but it was a big struggle. As a result, today I woke up with no voice, chest congested, cough, inflammation everywhere. Needless to say, I have no chance to sing the performance tomorrow…Really really sorry and fingers crossed it’s a short illness and I can be back for the next performance.”
Fatyol is a soprano who from 2011 to 2014 was a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and in 2014–15 a member of the company.
She is set to join a cast that includes Alexey Neklyudov and Bogdan Baciu. Antonino Fogliani conducts the production by Andreas Homoki.
