The Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf has announced a cast change for its new production of “Herodiade.”

The company said that french tenor Sebastien Gueze will perform the role of Jean.

Gueze has performed at the Athens Opera, Teatro La Fenice, La Monnaie, Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia di Roma and North Carolina Opera.

The French tenor is set to join a cast with Bogdan Baciu, Ramona Zaharia, Luiza Fatyol, Luke Stoker, Jorge Espino, Valentin Ruckebier, Matteo Guerzé, and Verena Kronbichler.

“Herodiade” is set to be conducted by Marc Piollet and Lorenzo Fioroni. The Deutsche Oper am Rhein production opens on May 27 and runs through June 25, 2023.
