Deutsche Grammophon Announces New Online Platform

By Francisco Salazar

Deutsche Grammophon has announced DG Premium.com, a new online platform.

The company announced that starting May 19, the platform will offer exclusive content to classical music fans and is focused on concert-length productions. DG Premium will provide access to video and audio recordings, free of charge until at least the end of this year, for new subscribers and registered members of myDG.

There will also be an option to purchase tickets via the site’s DG Stage portal for live-streamed events and presentations of audio-visual productions featuring stars from Deutsche Grammophon’s roster.

The DG Stage concerts and broadcasts will present specially produced live performances by Anna Netrebko, Daniel Barenboim, Rudolf Buchbinder, Andris Nelsons and Rolando Villazón, among others.

The platform is also partnering with the Bayreuth Festival to showcase the 2020 edition in its virtual form.

Other DG Stage highlights will include the premiere presentation of John Williams in Vienna, with the Hollywood composer conducting the Wiener Philharmoniker and Anne-Sophie Mutter in a concert of his works given earlier this year at Vienna’s Musikverein.
